I’m trying to understand better what is happening to the way people buy music. I still listen to cd’s and records. I have an ipod and it’s got a lot of really great music on it but i rarely listen to it anymore. i don’t even know where it is. i guess i’m just stuck in the old ways?

I have about 2,000 albums, but I buy CD’s now
they BOTH sound a lot better than ANY download
I think ordering them from places like Amazon.com is the way to go. In my experience, jazz records and CDs are very expensive in stores and not many record stores in my area have great selections jazz.
I try to buy from or order at my locally owned record store. If they cannot get it, then I order the CD online, hopefully from the artist’s website so they get more of the money. Jazz musicians live a tenuous life, money-wise.
some of each. there is something nice about browsing through a record store, limited selections make it easier to decide what to buy. but when an artist i love has a new release i just buy it online (as a cd).
i have lots of mp3s too, but i havent bought any online. i just rip them off the CDs. i dont really know why people pay CD prices for just the mp3s when you could buy the CD and have both.
i get all my albums from the itunes store, i love having Cds though, so i use my computer to burn the songs onto CDs so i can listen to them in the car or where ever, also i love my ipod, i dont listen to it by itself very much, but i love to be able to hook it up to a speaker and hear it on that.
